My brewing chum and myself used these successfully on two brews last year and intend to harvest more this year. Obviously the hops have been hybridised by now. But we were more than happy with the results of using them.

My neighbour has family connections to Grange Farm in Tongham and has the farm account books dating back to the turn of the last century. Listed in side wrer the hop varieties and amounts harvest for each year. I found four varieties , Whites, Bramlings, Fuggles and if I recall correctly Blues listed. When I get the chance again I'll take another look at the accounts and see if any other varieties were grown.

Hops are still grown in the area on the north side of the Hogs Back at Puttenham, Fuggles I believe.Robot Archienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2558050635605413616.post-20474784054683473072012-01-20T14:11:33.445+00:002012-01-20T14:11:33.445+00:00Thanks Martyn. This post is really only part one of four, though probably the longest and of most historical interest.Edhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13844169940650659196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2558050635605413616.post-8863942004706160982012-01-20T03:52:20.724+00:002012-01-20T03:52:20.724+00:00I thought I'd comented on this already and sai...I thought I'd comented on this already and said how excellent it was, but evidently not. Great stuff. If you're not already doing so, do write it up for the Brewery History Society journal, they'd love it.Martyn Cornellhttp://zythophile.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2558050635605413616.post-43454155949727917612012-01-18T15:29:55.716+00:002012-01-18T15:29:55.716+00:00This is great.
