During last night's festivities I picked up a packet of Ale Trumps.
There are cards for 34 beers, rated on age of brewery, barrels produced, refreshment, colour, ABV and rarity.
I'm not quite sure who they're aimed at but being easily amused I couldn't resist.
Cool. Great for the kids.
ReplyDeleteIs an ale trump the equivalent of a beer fart?
ReplyDeleteTraditionally a beer fart would be hoppier but nowadays they're equivalent ;-)
ReplyDeleteActually I suspect the reason they're called 'ale trumps' not 'ale top trumps' is because they don't want to get sued by the owners of top trumps.
Ha, these are great! The important question: which is the card that can kill all the others? There's always one that is the best in the pack to have and beats everything else - what is it with beer?
ReplyDeleteWho makes these? Such a random thing to buy together ... beer and a card game usually aimed at kids. :p
ReplyDeleteBeerBirraBier.
Judging by the website they seem to be wine writers. I didn't get the whole beer and kids game combination either, but it didn't stop me buying them!
ReplyDeleteI've not sussed the best card yet, but I did spot that Blue Anchor Spingo is a winner on date established.
Hey Guys.
ReplyDeleteNice idea! Do you know who produce those cards?
Cheers!
Follow the 'ale trumps' link in the post.
ReplyDeleteGot these this Christmas 2012, love them! Says there's only 8 made in the world. Love that they are all from UK too!
