Molson Coors have spent a lot of money on the Worthington's microbrewery. And they've hired a former brewer of the year to run it. But I can't say I've noticed anything exciting coming out of their fermenting vessels.
Surely with all the historical logs to plunder and the crazy world of craft innovation there should be a steady stream of drinking delights pouring out of Burton-upon-Trent. Anyone know what's going on?
I have wondered the same thing. Having said that, the White Shield that's around in bottles at the moment is phenomenal...
ReplyDeleteI was enjoying some White Shield myself recently but that's made in one of the big breweries now.
ReplyDeleteMy local supermarkets seem to have stopped stocking White Shield :-(
ReplyDeleteSo you can't get one of the few bottle conditioned beers you approve of? You don't really have much luck with them.
ReplyDeleteMore a case of "one of the few bottle conditioned beers I have found from experience not to be crap" - although I think I know where I can get one this weekend.
